Knowledge Outcomes:
 
Upon successful completion of this program students will be able to:
  • Show basic understanding of subject matter related to European Integration, International Economics, Ethnic Conflict, International Law and Diplomacy, Globalization World Politics and the US, the Balkans Question, the Cyprus Question;
  • Apply the subject matter critically and analytically in real situations;
  • Comprehend the political, social, legal, regulatory, environmental and technological impacts on corporations, governmental affairs and organizations;
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the European and American environment of corporations, business, governmental affairs and multi-cultural issues;
  • Integrate the knowledge acquired in the program in order to develop a critical stance of the political, economic, environmental and social events/matters intertwined in current affairs, whether locally, regionally or internationally;
  • Pursue postgraduate studies or professional qualifications in the field of International Relations.

 

Skills Outcomes:
As a result of completing this program, students should have acquired the following skills and values:

Possible Career Options:
This degree will enable you to adequately prepare for entry-level positions in government, multi-national companies, NGOs, academia, media and politics, in Greece as well as the wider region. Most of our Department’s graduates have chosen to continue their studies at a higher level (MSc and PhD) so that they become more knowledgeable and experienced in the field of international relations, diplomacy, European Union, History, Political Science, Mediation and Intercultural Management.
 
Further Study Options:
At New York College: With the BS in International Relations you are accepted by the by most of the MBA and MA or/and MSc programs offered at New York College. 
At Institutions Abroad: The entry qualifications for graduate studies differ from university to university; however the SUNY/Empire State College degree is accepted by most universities in the U.S. and all in the U.K. Popular universities usually require in addition to the degree a GPA higher than 3.0.   If you are interested in study abroad opportunities, contact your advisor early on in your studies and through our Student Affairs Department come into contact with alumni who have studied abroad.
