History of New York College
![]() | The NYC Educational Group was established in 1989 in Athens, offering exclusively in Greece, the undergraduate degrees of State University of New York, which is considered to be the largest public University in the United States with 64 campuses across the State of New York. | |
Since then, NYC has built on the vision of providing international university education of high credibility and cutting edge knowledge, which would meet the needs and demands of the local and global market and society. Based on this vision the Group expanded as no other in academic collaborations as well as, the establishment of institutions in the wider region of South-East Europe. | ||
In 1998, the University of New York in Prague (UNYP) was established and soon after recognized and accredited as a higher education institution by the Ministry of Education of the Czech Republic. More than 800 students every year choose to study at undergraduate or postgraduate level at UNYP. | ||
In 2001, New York College in Thessaloniki (NYCT) was established in the heart of the city, offering an extensive number of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in response to the educational needs of Northern Greece. | ||
During the same year, the Group launches its second private university and the first of its kind in Tirana. The University of New York in Tirana (UNYT), by securing the recognition and accreditation of the Ministry of Education of Albania and by offering a large number of undergraduate degrees, satisfied the vast need for quality education in the country. Today, UNYT is considered to be the first choice not only for university education, but also for executive training in Albania. | ||
The University of New York in Belgrade (UNYB) was established in September, 2006, as a new and dynamic private university committed to offering quality university education in Serbia, by combining the European and American paradigm, long-associated with its adherence to superior standards and devotion to academic excellence. | ||
