Objectives:
The objectives of the Department of Psychology are the following:
- To master the theory and content in Psychology and be able to describe the nature of psychology as a discipline.
- To introduce students to the breadth of the field.
- To teach students to develop and master the tools, techniques and methodologies of the field.
- To develop critical thinking skills in psychology and when possible a scientific approach to solving problems related to behavior and mental processes.
- To provide practical training in the science and practice of psychology, through volunteer programs designed by the College, and through the cooperation with pre-selected institutions/organizations. In this way, among other tangible benefits derived from on-the-job training, our students will have the chance to implement parts of what they have learned in class.
- One of the hallmarks of our undergraduate psychology program is close collaboration between undergraduate students and faculty members.
