The Department of Psychology, New York College, Athens proudly participated in the 9th European Congress of Qualitative Inquiry (ECQI 2026)

The Department of Psychology, New York College, Athens proudly participated in the 9th European Congress of Qualitative Inquiry (ECQI 2026), held from 13–16 January 2026 in Athens, Greece.

Faculty members Dr Antonia Svensson, Dr Ntaniella Pylarinou and Christina Tsaliki PhDc and students actively contributed to the conference through both poster and oral presentations, showcasing a wide range of qualitative research.

Presented topics included international students’ adjustment in Greece, mindfulness in the workplace, peer mentoring involving undergraduate psychology students, self-actualization, and psychotherapists’ perceptions of artificial intelligence integration in mental healthcare.

Additionally, two postgraduate research students from the Psychology Department presented their research exploring resilience and social support following the Beirut port explosion, as well as a Grounded Theory investigation of media exposure during the 2023 Turkey earthquake.

Participation in ECQI 2026 provided an enriching platform for academic exchange, critical dialogue, and engagement with contemporary qualitative researchers and practitioners on a global scale.
