Congratulations to Dr. Daniella Roubini Pylarinos—academic staff member of the Department of Psychology at New York College—on her publication in the Journal of Investigative Psychology and Offender Profiling.

Did you know that over a third of people in Greece and the UK have experienced stalking in their lifetime?

We are thrilled to announce our latest publication in the peer-reviewed Journal of Investigative Psychology and Offender Profiling.

Based on the PhD research of Dr. Ntaniella Roumpini Pylarinou (faculty member of the New York College Department of Psychology) at the University of Huddersfield, this just published cross-cultural study sheds light on stalking victimization and typologies in Greece and the United Kingdom.

Key Findings:

  • Prevalence: 42.3% of UK participants and 35.7% of Greek participants reported experiencing stalking.
  • Cultural Nuances: Significant cultural differences were identified in the specific stalking behaviors victims face.
  • Behavioral Typologies: The study developed a new typology revealing three core themes driving these behaviors: Intimacy, Aggression, and Sexuality.

A huge congratulations to the research team: Dr. Ntaniella Roumpini Pylarinou, Dr. Maria Ioannou, and Dr. John Synnott!
