Students and Alumni of the Department of English Language and ELT of NEW YORK COLLEGE attended Dr. Papargyris' talk on the principles of valid, reliable fair and practical assessment and were invited to challenge (mis)conceptions about standard language testing practices. Mr. Hindreen Mustafa's, Charge d' Affaires of Iraq in Greece, lecture for the International Relations students of New York College

On March 8, 2018, Mr. Hindreen Mustafa, Charge d' Affaires of Iraq in Greece, was the guest speaker at a lecture before the International Relations students of New York College. During the questions and answers session that followed, students under the supervision Mr. Leonidas Gontzes, Associate Dean and Head of the International Relations Department of New York College, had the opportunity to ask Mr. Mustafa international relations-themed questions.

Kieran Donaghy meeting the students of New York College

For the first time in Greece, acclaimed ELT Writer, Teacher and Trainer and founder of the "Image Conference" KIERAN DONAGHY presented a highly engaging, creative, and inspiring workshop on the Use of Video in the ESL classroom. Students, alumni and friends of the English Language Department of New York College had the unique opportunity to meet and discuss with Kieran Donaghy on the use of short films in ELT, creativity, and communicative tasks. At NYC we empower our student & alumni teachers to think, learn, develop and act creatively and ethically and we provide them  with learning opportunities that go beyond the curriculum.
