To mark the 200th anniversary of Lord Byron's appointment as the “political and military leader” in western Greece by the Greek authorities on January 25, 1824, 1 p.m., during the Greek War of Independence, New York College inaugurated the “NYC Lord Byron Room”—the largest and most distinguished lecture room on the NYC Athens Campus—on January 25, 2024, at exactly 1 p.m.

The event was organized by Dr Antonia Svensson, Head of the NYC Psychology Department, in collaboration with Mr Georgos Krallis, President of the non-governmental organisation Humanlinks.

The New York College Department of Psychology hosted visitors from the British Psychological Society and our partner the University of Bolton during this week. The BPS held a series of meetings with students, faculty and management and conducted an inspection of NYC premises, including the fully equipped NYC Psychology Research Laboratory.  It has been confirmed that the programme at New York College meets the rigorous criteria of the British Psychological Society for course accreditation. The entire NYC course team were commended by the BPS on their “approachability and cohesive way of working as a team and supporting the students”.

It was officially announced by the Guardian that the UNIVERSITY OF BOLTON has been upgraded by eight (8) places for this year (2022-2023), from 46th to 38th place in the ranking list of British Universities.

Against the backdrop of the Acropolis and the Pillars of Olympian Zeus, the New York College Graduation Ceremony was held at the historic National Gymnastics Club on Wednesday, July 06, 2022. In an atmosphere of emotion and joy, the graduates received their degrees from the Rectors and Deans of the partner universities.

According to the Guardian (Best UK Universities 2022 - rankings), the UNIVERSITY OF BOLTON was ranked 12th among all UK Universities in terms of student satisfaction with teaching standards (satisfied with teachers) and, in addition, in terms of the overall ranking (Guardian score), it was upgraded by 4 places to 46th among all UK Universities for 2021-2022.

 The 31^st Graduation Ceremony of New York College (NYC) took place on September 19^th, 2021, in the backdrop of the Acropolis and the columns of the Temple of Olympian Zeus, at the historic National Gymnastics Association.

At the House of Commons, Michelle Donelan, MP and the British Minister of State for Universities, referred explicitly to «the fantastic work the UNIVERSITY OF BOLTON are doing», in response to MP Chris Green’s statement that «the UNIVERSITY OF BOLTON is setting the standard».

The famous Harvard Professor, Dr. Howard Gardner, participated on Friday, 05 March 2021 at 18:30, at the Online Event on "The Contribution of Multiple Types of Intelligence to Personal and Professional Development" along with Prof. Dimitris Bourantas and Professor of E.K.P.A. George Flouris.

For this academic year (2020-2021), Guardian has formally announced a breathtaking upgrade of UNIVERSITY OF BOLTON by thirty-six (36) positions, from the 86th position (2019) to the 50th position (2020) in the ranking list of British Universities.

A little while ago, at 3:30 p.m., representatives of the students of New York College laid wreaths to the monumental statues of Georgios Karaiskakis (on Herodou Atticou Street, opposite the Panathenaic Stadium), and of Lord Byron (on Vas. Olgas Street, opposite the Columns of Olympian Zeus), both of which are located on the outer boundary of Zappeion, in the "neighbourhood" of New York College (Vas. Amalias 38).

The SUNY Board of Trustees has appointed Greek-born Jim Malatras as the new (14th) Chancellor of STATE UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK, the largest comprehensive University in the USA, with 64 campuses and 420,000 students. Jim Malatras assumed his duties in the leadership of SUNY on August 31, 2020. 

Distinguished speakers participated on Thursday, April 1^st 2021, at the Online Conference about Olive Oil, which was organized by the Departments of Dietetics-Nutrition and Biomedicine of New York College. 

Quality education and health safety are the two pillars of the New York College mission for the progress and prosperity of our students. Using this as our guide and empowered by your excellent response we emerged as winners during the first battle against the dangerous pandemic. The students did not miss any scheduled teaching hours, senior students graduated on time and therefore, we received our partner Universities’ warmest congratulations.

In this second, last but also most challenging battle, we are now all more experienced, strong, and ready to win once again giving our best and following faithfully the latest governmental measures (Government Gazette 4829 / Β / 2-11-2020).

At the initiative of UNESCO in 2002, 19^th of November has been established as World Philosophy Day, in order to emphasize the need for common reflection on the contemporary problems that concern humanity.

LIFO, a popular Greek newspaper, has published an article by Elias S. Foutsis, Hon PhD, President and Founder of New York College, entitled "A Timeless Oasis of Education in the Heart of Athens", referring to the history and architecture of the NYC Athens Campus, the only multi-building campus in the heart of Athens (38 Vas. Amalias Ave., Syntagma) in the neighborhood where knowledge and culture were created.

The interdisciplinary Conference "MAN AND HIS CREATIONS" which was organized by the cultural company "Athens calls Athens" was completed with great success. The conference aims at establishing an international dialogue between researchers, professors, students and the scientific community in general. It that way will be explored fundamental issues of the course of Modern Man in terms of his consciousness, his biological, emotional and spiritual evolution, his social nature, his perception of time and space, the management of the environment, his prosperity, calling on the modern sciences in continuous dialogue.

The Greek Newspaper "TA NEA" (issue #899) has published an article entitled "Kapodistrias: Studies in Greece, not abroad", written by Elias E. Foutsis, Hon PhD, President and Founder of NEW YORK COLLEGE. The article pertains to certain aspects of the educational legacy of Ethnarch Kapodistrias, first Governor and Liberator of Greece (1828-1831), and specifically to the value or even the critical importance his ideas might have for the contemporary tertiary-education system of Greece.
 

The outbreak of the new COVID-19 coronavirus and the resulting pandemic had a major impact on the daily lives of millions of people in our country and internationally, with all levels of education undergoing major changes, which may be long lasting. NEW YORK COLLEGE Educational Group, one of the most active educational organizations with presence in Athens, Thessaloniki and Prague, has all the necessary infrastructure and experienced academic, technical and administrative staff to respond successfully to the challenge of distance learning. For several  years has carried out many educational  programs using innovative technologies.

A very successful event took place at the Acropolis Museum on the 30^th of January for “The Future is here: Smartcities / Fintech / Privacy & AI”. The event was organized and hosted by the Group of New York College, with 250 attendants onsite and approximately another 5.500 people watching it on live streaming.

Neurofeedback is a non-invasive method of direct training the EEG which is the chief manifestation of brain function. Neurofeedback’s most eminent effect is that the brain functions better. This is the result of the brain’s ability to regulate itself better (autoregulation or self-regulation). Self-regulation is a necessary part of good brain function. Self-regulation training allows the central nervous system to function better.

A very successful seminar entitled “Effective Public Administration: The Critical Role of Leadership” was held on Monday, September 9, 2019, in the Hall of Parnassos Literary Society.

Keynote speaker was Mr. Dimitris Bourantas, Professor and Rector of New York College Educational Group.

On Wednesday, July 3^rd, 2019, with the scenic cloth of the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Parthenon and the Acropolis, New York College bid farewell to hundreds of graduates who acquired and developed the necessary key competences, ready to effectively offer them to their future employers.

On June 21, 2019, the University of New York in Prague (UNYP), member of the New York College Educational Group, held the 18th Graduation Ceremony at the Prague Zofín Palace. 

A time to remember and a time to celebrate will be the 30^th Graduation Commencement of New York College on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at the National Gymnastics Club (Ethnikos), in an inspiring setting next to the secret monuments of Acropolis and Olympian Zeus Columns.

The Federation of Associations of Trifilia with the support of the University of the Peloponnese, Panteion University and the Educational Group of New York College, held a study day on: “Dredes: The Protagonists of the 1821 Revolution”, on Wednesday, March 13^th, 2019 at 18:30, at the headquarters of New York College, situated in Amalias 38 Str, at Syntagma Square.

On Tuesday 19^th of February 2019, New York College - Thessaloniki Campus organized a seminar entitled “The Secrets of a Successful CV and Finding My First Job” which took place at its premises in Thessaloniki. The event’s speakers were Mrs. Anna Angelidou, Senior HR Consultant, and Olga Gaziteri, HR Consultant.

The seminar on “Exiting from the Crisis: The Czech Republic’s “Rules of Thumb” as an example for Greece” was held with great success on Friday, May 10^th, 2019, at the B & M Theocharakis Amphitheater.

The workshop on “Hospital Infections and Public Health” was successfully held on Thursday, May 9^th, 2019, at the Journalists’ Union of Athens Daily Newspapers Conference Hall.
