Seminar on “INTRODUCTION TO GASTRONOMIC TOURISM” by New York College Thessaloniki
On Wednesday 14th of March 2018, New York College - Thessaloniki Campus organized a seminar entitled “INTRODUCTION TO GASTRONOMIC TOURISM” which took place at its premises in Thessaloniki.
The event’s main speaker was Mrs. Maria Athanasopoulou, Owner of Respond On Demand Ltd & Co owner of Top Tourism nonprofit company, specialized to social media and Certified Ambassador to the World Food Travel Association.
Travellers are after unique gastronomical experiences and it is one of the most important trends in the sector of tourism worldwide. Examples of gastronomic tourism services: Seminars of Greek Cuisine, gourmed’s and wine conoirsseur’s events, visits to places where traditional products are produced, cooking events etc. Given the gastronomic and cultural wealth of Greece, as well as the quality and genuineness of the local products, it is obvious that there is an opportunity to develop Gastronomic Tourism and establish Greece as a Gastronomic Destination.
A very interesting and long dialogue took place after the seminar since the interest in the subject was high.
