Dr. George Xirogiannis
Dr. George Xirogiannis is Dean of Academic Affairs, Quality & Research at New York College, where he oversees academic programs, quality assurance, research initiatives, and relations with partner universities. He also serves as Vice-Chair of the Academic Committee. As a faculty member of the Department of Informatics, Dr. Xirogiannis teaches postgraduate courses in Artificial Intelligence. Dr. Xirogiannis currently directs a medical AI research initiative with international private funding, and his prior research has been funded by the London School of Economics and by EU research programmes. Dr. Xirogiannis has lectured at the University of Piraeus (Greece), the University of the Aegean (Greece), Deree – The American College of Greece, and CNAM (France). He holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence, an MSc in Artificial Intelligence, and a BSc in Mathematics.
Alongside his academic work, Dr. Xirogiannis brings over two decades of senior executive experience. He served as Director General of SEV Hellenic Federation of Enterprises, as a member of the Executive Committee and Chair for international market access and investments of BusinessEurope in Brussels, and earlier led complex transformation projects as Senior Manager in Strategy & Operations at PwC. He has served on the boards of Entersoft SA, IVEPE and ELANET.
