Vagenos Dimitris
Dimitris Vagenos is a PhD candidate in the Department of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology in 1996 from the Department of Biology at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, USA, and his Master’s degree in Biology–Microbiology in 1999 from the Department of Biology at Long Island University, New York, USA. He taught Biology in the Biology Department at Long Island University as a faculty member, and served as a biology lecturer for children with special needs at Legacy University in New York. In 2013, he was accepted for doctoral studies in the Department of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens. Currently, he is writing his doctoral dissertation titled “Study of cyanobacterial photosynthesis: An environmentally friendly energy source.” His doctoral experimental work is conducted in the laboratories of the Department of Biology at the National Centre for Scientific Research “DEMOKRITOS.” In 2015, he was a member of the organizing committee for the International Conference “Photosynthesis Research for Sustainability – 2015” in Chania. He has presented his experimental work at conferences. Currently, he teaches undergraduate courses at New York College.
