Chasandra Vicky
Vicky Chasandra holds a degree from the Department of French Language and Literature of the School of Philosophy at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has been a professional screenwriter since 1998. She has written screenplays for feature films (The Third Night, Strangers in a Foreign Country, etc.), TV movies, and television series for public and private television. She has published three novels: Black Asphalt (Bell, 2023), Sand on the Seabed (Topos, 2017), and Invisible Voices (Topos, 2015 / recognized among the top ten books of the year at the 2016 Public Awards). A graduate of the Centre de Traduction Littéraire (IFA), she has translated works by classic and contemporary French authors into Greek (Mme de Sévigné, Anatole France, Alfred de Musset, etc.). She has also trained in European Union affairs through specialized seminars in Athens and Brussels. Her short stories and essays on literature and cinema have been published in newspapers, magazines, and websites. She has been teaching screenwriting in the Department of Film Studies at New York College / University of Greenwich-London since 2006. She is a founding member of the Hellenic Film Academy and has served as a board member of the Screenwriters Guild of Greece and Secretary of the Greek Crime Writers Club (ELSAL).
