Sachinidis Athanasios
Dr. Athanasios Sachinidis is a graduate of the Department of Biology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) and holds an MSc in “Applications of Biology” specializing in “Applied Genetics and Biodiagnostics” (AUTH Department of Biology). He completed his doctoral dissertation titled “Investigation of the role of T-bet+ B lymphocytes in the pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus” at the AUTH Department of Medicine, receiving his PhD in immunology with highest honors and distinction (“Arista with distinction”). His primary research interests concern the role of B lymphocytes in the pathogenesis of autoimmune—primarily rheumatic—diseases. His research work has been presented at national and international (European and American) conferences and published in peer-reviewed scientific journals, including Clinical & Experimental Immunology, Immunologic Research, Rheumatology International, and Mediterranean Journal of Rheumatology. Dr. Sachinidis collaborates with New York College as a lecturer for Health Sciences courses at the Thessaloniki campus.
