Dr Maria Tziraki holds BASoc|BSc(Psyc)|MSc|PhD Academic Qualifications PhD in Medicine, University of Manchester, Manchester, UK MSc Neuropsychology, University of Bristol, School of Experimental Psychology, Bristol, UK BSc (Hons) Psychology, City University London, School of Social Sciences, London, UK Degree (Ptychio) Sociology & Criminology, Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, Department of Sociology. She has a background in neuroimaging research, focusing on the neural mechanisms of neurodevelopmental disorders and the impact of traumatic brain injury on cognitive function. Her PhD investigated the effects of statin treatment on brain structure, function, and cognition using multimodal MRI, in a clinical trial in children with Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1) and syndromic autism. She has also contributed to research examining the impact of traumatic brain injury on brain function and cognition in young people. In addition to her research expertise, she has received basic training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based techniques, and the Method of Levels therapeutic approach. She has held academic positions in the UK and Greece and has extensive experience in both research and higher education teaching.
