Dr. Ziogas Georgios
Dr. Georgios G. Ziogas holds a Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Exercise Science and Exercise Physiology from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and a Master of Science (M.S.) in Exercise Science from Pittsburg State University in the United States. During his doctoral studies, he was a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at the Exercise Science and Performance Laboratory from 1992 to 1996. He received numerous honors and awards, including “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities” (1994, 1995), the “Walter Scott Monroe Research Fellowship” (1993), the “Marvelle Michael Scholarship,” and the Superior Graduate Student Achievement Award (1996). Since 2000, he has directed the Sports Performance Testing Center “SportsClinic Thessaloniki” in Thessaloniki. He tests and analyzes the athletic performance of elite athletes and evaluates parameters affecting performance across numerous sports, including Football, Track and Field, Rowing, Swimming, Cycling, Tennis, Marathon, Ultra-Distance Running, Triathlon, Skiing, Basketball, Volleyball, Wrestling, Taekwondo, Martial Arts, Water Polo, and others. He also analyzes data from modern athletic performance monitoring devices during competition and training (GPS Monitoring Systems, Accelerometers, Gravitometers, PROZONE, VIS TRACK, GPSports, etc.). Since 2000, he has collaborated with top football clubs participating in the Champions League (Quarter-finals / Group of 8) and Europa League, as well as teams from Greece and abroad (Russia, Cyprus, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates). He has worked alongside top coaches from Greece and abroad, including Ernesto Valverde, Fernando Santos, Huub Stevens, Ivan Jovanović, among others. He is also the Exercise Physiologist for the Hellenic Olympic Rowing Team that competed in the Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, London 2012, and Rio 2016 Olympic Games. He is a Research Associate at the Pediatric Clinic of the Athens Medical School, fitness consultant for Proseed Research Technologies (Dubai, UAE), and Associate Clinical Exercise Physiologist at the Center of Aviation Medicine in Thessaloniki. He has delivered more than 60 scientific conference presentations and published 17 articles in international scientific journals, including the British Journal of Sports Medicine, Metabolism, Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, Journal of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, Canadian Journal of Applied Physiology, Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport, Nutrition, Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, Knee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, Journal of Science and Medicine in Sport, etc. At PAOK F.C., he has served as Sport Scientist, Exercise Physiologist, and Sports Performance Analyst for the First Team and Academies since 2010.
