Dr Anna‑Stefani Siettou studied at the Athens University of Economics and Business, where she obtained a BSc in International and European Economic Studies. She continued at the same institution, earning an MSc in International Shipping, Finance and Management. She later completed her PhD in the Department of Economics and Sustainable Development at Harokopio University, focusing on a socioeconomic analysis of the stray companion animal overpopulation crisis in Greece. Her academic background combines economics, shipping, finance, and public policy, shaping her interdisciplinary research profile. Her main research focuses on animal welfare, particularly the socioeconomic dimensions of stray animal management and public attitudes toward adoption in Greece. She has significant professional experience through collaborations with major institutions such as the Bank of Greece, the Hellenic Parliament, and European Commission–funded programmes like Horizon Europe. Dr Siettou is currently Head of Business Management and Head of International Shipping at New York College, where she also lectures and supervises undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations.
