This programme provides you with a solid foundation in business management while taking advantage of specialised knowledge in the area you are interested in more. The programme prepares you for a career in business and management. You will develop essential knowledge and skills within a regional, national and international context. For the 4 year programme:
- Duration: Four (4) years – Entry to Level 3

- Duration: Three (3) years – Direct Entry to Level 4

Local Course Manager: Kelley Galloway
Kelley has been involved in the University of Bolton programme since 2018 and teaching at New York College since 1994. She holds a Bachelor degree in Social Science from Richmond: the American International University in London and a Masters degree in Sociology from the London School of Economics. Her experience of both American and British educational systems as well as her sociological training enables her to advise and assist students throughout their studies.

John Stavroulakis holds a Bachelor's degree from the Advanced School of Tourism Management in Greece an dpossesses extensive expertise in Food and Beverage Management, accompanied by a diverse gastronomic background cultivated throughout his career. He has garnered valuable experience as a consultant, providing his services to both Greek and internationalvenues.Additionally, John'sprofoundknowledgeof wineandspirits,coupled withhisproficiencyasanevent planner and trainer, further enhance his comprehensive skill set. Moreover, John has successfully ventured into entrepreneurship with in the beverage industry, demonstrating his innovative mindset. Through out his professional journey, he has held various positions,encompassing food and beverage management, restaurant and bar management, and event management. Furthermore, he has been actively involved in training and educating individuals at different proficiency levels, including students and professionals. Renowned for his warm demeanor and eagerness to share his wealth of experiences, Ioannis directs his teaching endeavors with a blend of creativity, effective communication, and a willingness to embrace novel opportunities. By seamlessly integrating theoretical concepts into practical applications, he empowers his students to comprehend and navigate the intricacies of the industry. Ioannis leverages his vast network to organize immersive visits to diverse Food and Beverage establishments, enabling students to gain first hand exposure. Furthermore, he frequently invites industry professionals to deliver guest lectures,enriching the classroom experience.
Alexander Coutroubis, PhDc Alexander is the Director of Maritime Studies at NYC. He is also a Member of the Athens Bar Association and has his own Private Practice specializing in Corporate/Commercial Law. He holds a LLB (Hons) from the University of Greenwich and a LLM from the London School of Economics. He is the tutor for the Business Law module. His innovative teaching techniques have helped students learn more than just the course material.
Penny Vlagos Penny has been teaching at NYC since 1999 specializing in Human Resource Management and Organizational Behaviour. Through her professional experience as an HR Manager, she is able to pass on to students actual examples from working in both the US and Greece. With a Bachelor degree in International Business and an MBA from Loyola University, she has a wealth of knowledge related to business subjects. Penny also frequently invites professionals from HRM and NYC Alumni to speak in her classes. Students greatly enjoy her lively teaching style, enthusiasm for course material and approachable manner.
Dr. Vassilis Skianis - Vassilis holds a Bachelor degree in Banking and Financial Management from the University of Piraeus, a Master degree in Economics from New York University, and a PhD in Environmental Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is also a research associate and participates in the organization of international academic conferences with Athens Institute for Education & Research (ATINER). Vassilis has been involved in various research (EU FP7 and H2020) and consulting projects.
Dr. Anastasios Liapakis (Post-Doc, Ph.D., MBA, M.Sc., B.Sc.) Dr. Anastasios Liapakis is the head of Informatics Department in New York College. He is a PostDoc Researcher in the era of Big Data Analytics in the Informatics Laboratory of the Agricultural University of Athens and a visiting lecturer in the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Dept. of Digital Industry Technologies (Since 2020). In the past, he worked as a visiting lecturer in thedepartment of Electric and Electronic Engineering/ University of West Attica. He received his master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Digital Marketing and his Ph.D. in Informatics, in the field of Data Analytics in Social Media Networks from the Informatics Laboratory of the Agricultural University of Athens. His Ph.D. Research was cofinanced by the State Scholarships Foundation (ΙΚΥ). His main research interest evolves around Data Structures, Big Data Analytics, Knowledge Engineering, Management Information Systems, Machine Learning techniques, Natural Language Processing, and Sentiment Analysis applied in problems concerning Management, Economics, and Marketing. His notable research work, published in national and international peer-reviewed Journals and Conferences, has got a significant number of citations. One of his research paper published in International Journal of Computational Linguistics (IJLC) was awarded the Best Paper Award of 2020. He has participated in four EU-leading research projects in the area of Informatics. He has been teaching Informatics, Programming, Object-Oriented Programming, Databases, Data Analytics, ICT courses, and Management Information Systems forthe past 6 yearsin public and private universities in Greece.
Nikos Oikonomakis Lt Col N. Oikonomakis is a Staff Officer (OF4) at General Directorate for Defence Investments & Armaments in Ministry of National Defence. He is responsible for the management of Principal Contracts with Companies & Government to Government Agreements in the field of Aeronautics (F-16 Viper Upgrade, FOS Patriot, FOS AEW&C, FOS Crotale NG-GR, etc.). He has more than 13 years’ flying experience in managing and directing air operations, as well as working experience in developing or overseeing projects/programs from concept to completion. His operational background includes flying with Greek and NATO AWACS (almost 2300 flying hours), planning and executing a wide range of peacetime and wartime Airborne Battle Management, C2 & Joint ISR operations. He lectures Financial Management & Decision Making, Contemporary Issues in Marketing and Project Management at New York College Athens.
Yiannis Lavdiotis Yiannis Lavdiotis holds a Master’s Degree in Marketing (with distinction) from the University of Central in Birmingham, a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies & Management (BA) from the University of Westminster in London, UK. He is also an Accredited Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (ACIM). He has more than 20 years of teaching experience in Marketing and Business courses and more than 25 years of business experience in various managerial positions in multinational companies such as Johnson & Johnson, GfK International, Regus, Grant Thornton as well as a business consultant and accredited business coach. As a business consultant he practices Training and Development as well as Coaching to marketing and sale executives (he has trained more than 20.000 professionals). He specializes in the areas of Sales and Marketing, Customer & Shopper Marketing and Key Account Management. He is an Executive Partner in Exceed Consulting and the Head on Mercuri’s International training programs in Greece.
