The Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons) in Sports Science – Coaching, offered by the public British university University of Greater Manchester in collaboration with New York College in Greece, provides students with a comprehensive and internationally recognized education in Physical Education and Sports. With a core focus on coaching science, the program equips graduates with specialized knowledge and practical skills essential for advancing their careers in the sports industry. Additionally, students are exposed to key modules related to exercise for health and wellness, gaining valuable expertise in promoting physical well-being and fitness for both athletes and the wider public.
Students enrolled in this degree program acquire a solid foundation and advanced skills across a wide range of individual and team sports, underpinned by the academic rigor and tradition of British higher education. Delivered at New York College campuses in Athens and Thessaloniki—cities closely linked with the origins of fair play and the Olympic Ideal—the program combines theoretical instruction with practical training in Sports Science and Physical Education.
The hands-on component is delivered through partnerships with leading athletic organizations. In particular, students participate in supervised training sessions, experiential workshops, and competitive sports activities held at the facilities of the historic National Gymnastics Club (EGS), located just 300 meters from the College’s main entrance. Selected practical modules are also conducted at the state-of-the-art Olympic Sports Complex (O.A.K.A.), offering students access to elite sports environments that support high-quality education and holistic professional development.
A major strength of the Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons) in Sports Science – Coaching lies in its distinguished faculty team, composed of experts recognized for their academic research in sport and with proven professional experience in Greece, the UK, and the United States. The programme is recognised on the basis of the procedures provided for by the Autonomous Section for the Implementation of European Legislation (ATEEN) of the Ministry of Education and in accordance with the legislation in force.

Practical Training Facilities
PRACTICAL lessons in state-of-the-art laboratories & standard training centers!
New York College Athens collaborates with the historic National Gymnastics Club (EGS), the Olympic Athletic Center of Athens "Spyros Loys" (OAKA) and the CLOSED GYM METS where supervised training sessions are conducted, experiential lessons and competitive sports for the students of the programme, but also at the European standard training centre for the preparation of Greek Olympic athletes of the Olympic Gymnastics.
In addition, our students use the private sports centre Alma Club for their various sports activities. The Ergofit Sports Evaluation Centre houses the Kinesiology and Ergometrics laboratories used by our students, the first and most comprehensive private athlete evaluation centre operating in Athens.
New York College Thessaloniki collaborates with CHANTH and the Kautantzoglio National Stadium for supervised trainings, experiential lessons and competitive sports for the students of the program.

The Panhellenic Association of Gym Owners (PA.SY.GY.) and the Attica Gym Owners Association (S.I.G.A.) are key partners of the Department, offering students practical training opportunities in recognized fitness centers across the country. This collaboration ensures direct exposure to the professional field while expanding students’ knowledge in gym management and operations.
