New York College Students' Social Responsibility Program

New York College is the only Greek educational group that is a member of the United Nations Global Compact* since 2014, has made Corporate Social Responsibility a key priority of its activities by supporting the actions of organizations that benefit society as a whole.

Dear Students of New York College,

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the New York College Student’s Social Responsibility Program - an exciting initiative aimed at fostering active participation in volunteering actions within and beyond our college community.

The mission of the New York College Student’s Social Responsibility Program is to cultivate a culture of social awareness, empathy, and community engagement among our students and graduates. Through meaningful volunteer experiences, we aim to empower individuals to become agents of positive change in society.

Objectives:

  • Encourage active participation in volunteer activities
  • Promote social responsibility and ethical citizenship
  • Foster empathy and understanding of community needs
  • Provide opportunities for personal and professional growth
  • Create a lasting impact on both individuals and communities

Steps to Participate:

Registration: Sign up for the program through the designated form below or visit the Student AffairsOffice (NYC Athens Campus, Person in charge: Antonis Kontorousis)

Volunteer Opportunities: Explore a variety of volunteer opportunities available within and outside the college campus.

Record Volunteer Hours: Log your volunteer hours and activities to earn credits, by sending email at studentaffairs@nyc.gr

Attend Social Responsibility Seminar: Participate in the end-of-year seminar to reflect on your experiences and learn from inspiring speakers.

Eligibility for Certification: Upon completion of the required volunteer hours and seminar attendance, eligible participants will receive a Diploma/Certificate of Social Responsibility.

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • On-Campus Activities: Engage in campus clean-up drives, tutoring programs, NYC events, and more
  • Community Outreach: Partner with local charities, NGOs, and social enterprises to address pressing community needs such as education, healthcare, environmental sustainability, and poverty alleviation
  • Skill-Based Volunteering: Utilize your skills and expertise to support organizations in areas such as graphic design, marketing, IT support, and language translation
