Dr. Rebecca Smith,Senior Lecturer at the University of Greenwich visited New York College

On 4th and 5th December the Department of Psychology at New York College welcomed Dr. Rebecca Smith, Senior Lecturer at the University of Greenwich. During her visit Dr Smith gave a talk to psychology undergraduates studying on the University of Greenwich BSc (hons) Psychology at NYC Athens entitled “Terror Management Theory: A critical review”. The talk examined the latest applied research in the area of social psychology, which is part of the final year syllabus, and included research conducted at the University of Greenwich. Dr Smith also met with the new Level 4 Psychology students to officially welcome them to the programme on behalf of the University of Greenwich, and held a series of meetings with the local faculty, management and student representatives from each year of studies. New York College has enjoyed a close and very fruitful collaboration with the University of Greenwich for over 10 years, which has resulted in many successful graduates from the Athens programme who have gone on to complete further studies in neuropsychology, social psychology, research degrees, Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy and Counselling Psychology, further enhancing the fact that Psychology graduates are attractive to employers due to their excellent team work collaboration and research skills.
