MBA International Shipping


The MBA International Shipping programme takes a managerial and strategic perspective of the maritime industry and places emphasis on the managerial skills required for achieving the highest positions within this exciting industry. On completion of this programme, graduates will have detailed knowledge of shipping management in all sectors of a company have the academic knowledge and skills base to operate as an effective managerial professional in various departments and gain the necessary insight to meet everyday challenges faced.

The MBA International Shipping programme covers all the managerial aspects of the shipping industry including Strategic Management and Leadership, Shipping Law and Maritime Policy, Financial Management and Decision Making in shipping, Human Resource and Crew Management, Chartering, Risk Management in Shipping, Commercial Management and Marketing, Data Analytics in Shipping.

For full-time students: The MBA International Shipping is a 18-month academic programme that includes teaching and assessments for the first 12 months as well as 6 months for the professional project. Students have the opportunity to select among optional modules.

Entry Requirements

You are normally expected to have successfully completed an honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject and have appropriate work experience. You may be required to attend an interview and/or provide a portfolio of work. If English is not your first language you will need to complete a Secure English Language Test at IELTS 6.5 or equivalent with no band less than 6.0
