On 18 th of November, New York College (NYC) Thessaloniki hosted the TESOL MTH Academic Writing Event. It was a successful event where the audience enjoyed three very interesting talks from experts in the fields of language education, pedagogy, and linguistics in a contemporary, relaxing and welcoming venue at NYC premises. On Thursday 23rd November, the Department of Psychology at New York College organized a talk by Dr Marsha Koletsi, a Psychologist specialized in the treatment of Eating Disorders using Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (PhD, University of Sheffield, UK), entitled "CBT-E for Eating Disorders: Analysis of a Case Study of an Anorexic Client". The talk was part of the Psychology Invited Speaker Series for the academic year 2017-18. The participants were introduced to CBT-E, a transdiagnostic personalised psychological treatment for eating disorders which addresses psychopathological processes external to the eating disorder. On Wednesday 15 th of November 2017, New York College - Thessaloniki Campus organized a seminar entitled “ Playing with the Big Boys: An Entrepreneurial Success Story ” which took place at its premises in Thessaloniki. MATH LAB @ NYC Students usually feel anxiety and stress when they are asked to attend mathematics and statistics courses at a University level. By improving their expertise in math, students can reduce and often eliminate this anxiety. New York College Counselling Service Counseling Service supports the psychological and emotional well being of NYC students by providing counseling and consultation - both of which adhere to strict standards of confidentiality . It offers short-term individual sessions . Counseling is an opportunity to talk with a mental health professional regarding concerns or problems, such as feelings of low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, academic concerns, issues with friends and family or relationship concerns.
