Workshop on “Hospital Infections and Public Health” by New York College

The workshop on “Hospital Infections and Public Health” was successfully held on Thursday, May 9th, 2019, at the Journalists’ Union of Athens Daily Newspapers Conference Hall.

The event was organized by the New York College Educational Group, in collaboration with the “Healthcare Associated Infection Surveillance” (EPI.LOI.S.Y.) and the Hellenic Association on Crisis Management in the Health Sector, on the occasion of the World hand Hygiene Day.

Thanos Plevris (Attorney, LLM, MP Candidate with New Democracy), Leon Grigoris (President of the Panhellenic Forensics Association), Athena Stoupi (Infectious Disease Specialist), Theodorakos Ioannis (Lieutenant-Commander of Hellenic Navy, Head of the Department of Microbiology at the Athens Naval Hospital, Member of the Hellenic Association on Crisis Management in the Health Sector) and Ilias Foutsis (President and Founder of New York College Educational Group) attended the event in a packed JUAND hall.  

The speakers expressed their opinion on the subject-matter, presenting their point of view through different perspectives, constantly stimulating and generating the interest of the audience.   

The Non-Profit Organization “Healthcare Associated Infection Surveillance” was introduced for the first time, which, led by Thanos Plevris and Ilias Foutsis, aims to contribute on a strategy to minimize the occurrence of in-hospital infections.

The intriguing discussion was moderated by Journalist, G. Kouvaras.

The event concluded with the promise of the organizers of take further successful actions in the health sector, and to renew the appointment for the next conference.
