Μεταπτυχιακό σε Marine Engineering Management
Οι ταχύτατες και συνεχείς εξελίξεις στην Ναυτιλιακή βιομηχανία είχαν ως αποτέλεσμα, όχι μόνο στον διεθνή αλλά κυρίως στον Ελλαδικό χώρο, την κατακόρυφη αύξηση της ζήτησης για παρακολούθηση ναυτιλιακών μεταπτυχιακών προγραμμάτων, με έμφαση στη διοίκηση.
Ο κύριος στόχος του προγράμματος MSc in Marine Engineering Management είναι να προσφέρει ένα ευέλικτο μεταπτυχιακό πρόγραμμα επιπέδου Masters, ιδιαίτερα ελκυστικό, συνδυάζοντας ένα μοναδικό μίγμα τεχνικών και διοικητικών γνωστικών αντικειμένων, άμεσα ανταποκρινόμενο στις προκλήσεις που ήδη αντιμετωπίζει η ναυτιλιακή βιομηχανία.

Principal Lecturer; Teaching Fellow Department of Mechanical, Manufacturing & Design School of Engineering
Dr Alec Coutroubis has been principal lecturer in engineering management since 2005 at the University of Greenwich, and before that senior lecturer since 1996. His professional career includes being the managing director of ALCO Shipping Co., Piraeus, Greece and managing director, Shipping, Transport Insurance Management (STIM) SA, Luxembourg. He is the founder and co-managing director of MDT (Micro Diamond Tools) Ltd, Greece and UK, and was also a senior executive Credit Commercial de France, Paris, Bahrain and Athens. He was also the treasurer at The Arab Investment Company, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. His degrees include an M.B.A from the London Business School, an MSc from Imperial College in London, and a PhD in Engineering.
Dr. John Kokarakis is currently Head of Technical Services for the Hellenic and Black Sea Region at Bureau Veritas, and has extensive experience in the Shipping Industry from 1976 and until today; mostly in the area of Ship Engineering. He specializes in the plan approval of various types of ships; concentrating mostly on ship design, repair, conversions, owner support and statutory issues. He obtained his B.S.E. in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens in 1979, and then went on to undertake two M.S.E. Degrees from the University of Michigan; one in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering and a second one in Mechanical Engineering. Lastly, he further obtained a PhD in 1986 from the same University, concentrating on Marine Risers.
Alexander B Coutroubis is currently the Head of School of Maritime Studies at New York College. After graduating from the London School of Economics & Political Science (L.S.E.), where Mr. Coutroubis obtained his specialisation in International Corporate and Commercial Law (LL.M.), he continued to acquire his license of practice at the B.P.P. Law School of Holborn by undertaking the Legal Practise Course (L.P.C.) to become a Solicitor in the United Kingdom. Following the completion of the Professional Qualification he returned to Greece where he underwent further exams in recognition of his studies abroad and, after training with a highly prestigious Law Firm and Shipping Company in Athens became a Member of the Athens Bar Association, where he has been a practising Lawyer for some years. He specialises in the areas of Shipping Law, Corporate and Commercial Law, Arbitration and Civil/Criminal disputes. He is further currently undertaking a PhD degree in Shipping Law.
Dr.Georgios Papamichail (CCDP, CCNP, CCNA Sec, CCAI, Microsoft Specialist) holds a Ph.D in Group Decision Making from the Athens University of Economics and Business and a DipIng in computer engineering and informatics from the University of Patras, Greece. He works as Head at the Department of Coordination of the Institute of Training, Greek National Center of Public Administration, and is interested in Network Management and Security, Group decision making and negotiations, Clustering applications, Management Information Systems and Business Strategy. During the last 15 years he has worked as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in Information Systems at the Department of Management Science and Technology at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), as a senior researcher at the Eltrun (the e-Business Center) at the AUEB, as Scientific Personnel at the Greek Open University, and as a consultant to the Greek Government and a number of Greek firms. He is the main Cisco Instructor at the Greek National Center of Public Administration and has received teaching awards both from Cisco (Instructor Excellence 2012), New York College (2010) and the Athens University of Economics and Business (2005). Has published more than 30 papers in well-known journal and Conferences such as the European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Decision Systems and the Computer Journal.
George Kiourktsoglou obtained his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering in 1992 from the Aristotelian Technical University of Thessaloniki in Greece. As an intern, he worked for the Israeli Public Corporation of Electricity. Having concluded his military service he went to the U.S.A. to study Nuclear Engineering and Applied Physics at Cornell University. From the latter he graduated in 1996 with an M.Sc..
From 1996 till 2009 he worked for Royal Dutch Shell both in Greece and abroad, assuming various roles in Downstream Marketing, Strategy, Negotiations and eventually in Health, Safety, Environment and Security (H.S.S.E.). Sponsored by Shell Hellas, he graduated in 2006 from Alba in Athens with a Diploma in Management and two years later with an M.B.A. in Shipping from the same College. Currently he is doing research, as a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Greenwich. His field of interest is Maritime Security with a special focus on the ‘Piracy around the Gulf of Aden and the Horn of Africa’.
George is a member of the American Nuclear Society, the Chartered Management Institute and the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology in London. He speaks Greek, English, German, Japanese and French.
George Markezinis is an environmental engineer and resource manager. After graduating from Athens College (1998) he went on to receive his bachelor degree from the University of Nottingham, UK, in Environmental Engineering and Resource Management (2002), and his Master’s degree from the University of Plymouth, UK, in Environmental Monitoring and Management (2004). His work as an environmental instructor (since 2009) includes courses in both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, taught in Greek and English language. The subjects of the courses include environmental management, climate change, sustainable development, environmental engineering, environmental science, and sustainable development of tourism. He also works as a consultant and trainer in an environmental consultant firm and a law firm in issues of sustainability and sustainability reporting, corporate social responsibility, external verification and assurance, carbon reduction, research, environmental analysis, and green businesses/events. He also has experience in conducting Environmental Impact Assessment reports. He is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece as an Environmental Technology Engineer. At his free time he enjoys participating in nature protection actions, writing, sports, arts and technology.
Nikolaos Kotakis (BEng, MSc, MBA, EMIB, MRINA, CEng, EUR-ING) started his career in Shipbuilding, holding various positions in ship repair and new-building projects in Greece, Germany, and the USA. He joined TOTAL Group in 2012 as Marine Lubrication Engineer, responsible for the SE Europe region. In 2015 he moved to France, appointed as OEM manager, responsible for the relationships with 2-stroke and 4-stroke marine engine manufacturers. Since July 2020 he holds the position of the Technical Director of TOTAL Lubmarine. Nikolaos has been a visiting professor at New York College since 2013 teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in his fields of expertise (Technical Management, Commercial Management, Maritime Economics, Strategy).
Nikolaos is holder of an Engineer’s degree in Naval Architecture, a Master of Science (MSc) with Distinction in Marine Engineering Management, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with Distinction, both from the University of Greenwich, and an Executive Master in International Business (EMIB) from ESCP Business School in Paris. He is member of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (MRINA), registered with the Engineering Council as Chartered Engineer (CEng) and with the FEANI as European Engineer (EUR-ING). He speaks Greek, English, French and German.
George Georgousopoulos completed his studies in USA and holds a BS in Engineering from New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), an MBA from Adelphi University, and a MSc from University of Louisville. He is a Candidate for Doctorate in Business Administration from International School of Management (ISM) Paris, France and his Dissertation examines issues in Operations and Value Chain Management. He also attended seminars as a Visiting Scholar in Paris, Sanghai, and Tokyo. George has been working at NYC since 2004 teaching undergraduate courses (ESC, Greenwich) as well as graduate level (Greenwich, IUKB, ESG). He was also a visiting Professor in the University of Bretagne, Brest in France teaching International Operations and Supply Chain Management (Graduate Level). George’s lecturing methods and the ability to support students to reach their full potentials make him a valuable member of the NYC family.
Προκειμένου να ολοκληρωθεί το πρόγραμμα και να απονεμηθεί το πτυχίο Mάστερ, οι σπουδαστές πρέπει να ολοκληρώσουν επιτυχώς 8 κύρια μαθήματα και μία εργασία υπό την καθοδήγηση καθηγητού που ορίζεται για αυτόν τον σκοπό. Οι σπουδαστές είναι επίσημα εγγεγραμμένοι ως σπουδαστές του Πανεπιστημίου του Greenwich.

- Οικονομικά Ναυτιλιακού Τομέα και Διαχείριση Επιχείρησης - 15 μονάδες
- Μηχανική Διαχείριση Πλοίων και Στόλου - 15 μονάδες
- Διπλωματική Εργασία– 60 πιστωτικές μονάδες
Ένα έτος πλήρους παρακολούθησης.
Δύο έτη μερικής παρακολούθησης.
Το πρόγραμμα, λαμβάνοντας υπόψη του τη στρατηγική θέση της ναυτιλίας στη παγκόσμια ανάπτυξη, δίνει έμφαση σε εκείνες τις γνώσεις και δεξιότητες που είναι απαραίτητες για την επαγγελματική ανέλιξη των πτυχιούχων του στις υψηλότατες θέσεις των ναυτιλιακών επιχειρήσεων και οργανισμών.
Με την ολοκλήρωση του προγράμματος, οι πτυχιούχοι του θα διαθέτουν ευρύτατη και σε βάθος γνώση, σε θέματα οργάνωσης και διοίκησης ναυτιλιακών επιχειρήσεων και οργανισμών.
