NYC congratulates Vassilis Pappas, who has successfully passed the Oral Examination (VIVA) and is about to be awarded a PhD from the University of Bolton

New York College congratulates Vassilis Pappas, who has successfully passed the Oral Examination (VIVA) and is about to be awarded a PhD from the University of Bolton.

Dr. Pappas wrote his dissertation entitled "The role of European Union regional policy: some lessons from a Greek Region" under the supervision of Dr. Andrea Papastamou, Associate Professor of European Economics at Panteion University.

Head of the examination committee was Dr. Zahra Salimi, Professor at the University of Bolton and Dr. Zacharias Bragoudakis, Senior Economist, Head of Econometric Forecasting Section of the Economic Analysis and Research Department at the Bank of Greece and Visiting Professor at the Department of Economics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and awarded by the European Central Bank (ECB) awarded with the first prize in the Eurosystem macroeconomic forecasting competition in 2014.

With a vision of the "economy" of knowledge, innovation and entrepreneurship, New York College, created the Department of Doctoral Studies in collaboration with the University of Bolton, in 2005. New York College is the only College in Greece that has a 15 year experience in promoting  research activity. The department, "home” of 50 PhD candidates, is staffed by renowned scientists with academic, business and social sensitivity.
